Testing of optic and infrared systems
Optics laboratory for observation and sighting systems
In order to measure basic parameters of optic reconnaissance and observation systems, TV cameras and noctovision devices the laboratory is equipped with an optic test bench, 0.5´ accuracy goniometer, auxiliary binoculars, dioptrimeters, wide-angle optic collimator, light box including required line tests, low-level light source, digital illumination meter, TV display with a digital oscilloscope.
The laboratory performs measurements of basic parameters of day observation and sighting devices, TV cameras and noctovision devices. Based upon line test measured resolution of optic, TV and noctovision systems we determine the theoretical maximum range of detection, recognition and identification of standard targets.
Infrared systems laboratory
To be able to measure basic parameters of infrared systems the laboratory is equipped with the CI SYSTEMS METS-S-10 modular measuring system with a valid authorization, comprising a mirror collimator, IR radiation source – black body, control unit and a motor-powered turning carousel including the tests.
The METS-S-10 measuring system allows conducting the following tests of the infrared devices:
- MRTD (Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference) versus room frequency [cycle/mrad],
- NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) of the entire infrared system,
- Non-uniformity, geometry (linearity) of the image, field of view size.
- Based upon measured MRTD we determine theoretical maximum range of detection, recognition and identification of standard targets according to STANAG 4350 and STANAG 4347.
